The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to replace unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi. The 26-year-old is set to meet up with the squad for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been confirmed. The Three Lions have already qualified for next summer's tournament. Chalobah received his initial invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team. In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the team for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the subsequent October fixtures. Tuchel has been an key influence in Chalobah's career, having given him his Chelsea debut in 2021. Chalobah has played in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team in third place in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the group stage of the European competition. Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over the Dutch side recently. There are likely to be other call-ups to the squad. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the national team.
